5K

40 mins 57 secs. That’s my official time for 5K run at the recently concluded Unilab Run United 2 2011 held at Bonifacio Global City. A bit slow, pero ok na rin diko na kinakarer ang pagtakbo. After a month of having no physical activity or any practive, safe naman akong nkarating sa finish line.

What I like about the Unilab sponsored run is, the event is well organized, the place is accessible at syempre ang daming freebies and games. I’m looking forward for the next league in November.

Sori sa blurred photo, kuha ko lang from a print photo via ipod camera.

The RUN for a Cause

Filipino runner's Bayanihan spirit is very much alive! To help in the on-going relief operations to the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami, Greentennial Events organized a fund raising run entitled RUN FOR JAPAN at Bonifacio Global City.

The said event was fun. Alive and kickin' ang mga runners. Aside from prayers, this is my little way of lending my help to those victims of the tragedy.

It's Fun to Run

Philippine Daily Inquirer recently held 25 for 25, a fun run event in celebration of the nation’s leading newspaper 25th year anniversary at Bonifacio Global City. This was actually my first run for this year. I finished my 5K run at 43 minutes. (Di nalalayo sa last time record ko, walang masyadong improvement. Ganun yata talaga kapag tumatanda na!)

"Running is a fabulous workout to condition your body. It serves as the perfect remedy to get rid of your flabby abs and shed those extra pounds on your body. Not only it helps in fastening your weight loss program, but also it helps to overcome aging problem and thus makes you look ten years younger. In the present times, people are leading such an unhealthy lifestyle that they virtually have no time to workout, to strengthen their body and to keep fit. It is, thence, that running helps in strengthening your body muscles and keeping you in shape. Running also closes the gateway for diseases like breast cancer, heart stroke, diabetes, hypertension etc, thus protecting you from the clutches of these ugly problems." Konting effort pa, career na ‘to, (hehe)! Meanwhile, I think I need some good massage here. That was a bit tiring.

I'm getting ready for my 10K run next week.

Kickin'

Waking up in a Sunday morning as early as 3-4am is exhausting. Maybe I got used to it already. I started running a few months ago and yes it’s nice, it boosts my energy (that I think). Besides I am into the idea that a regular running slows down aging. (un!) So here we go.

This is my last run for this year. (Bakasyon muna!)

Unilab Run United for Wellness

“ Regular running and jogging is a good way to improve your health and fitness. These provide a great cardiovascular workout, strengthen and tone your muscles. These also give better overall physical condition as well as some other health benefits, including mental benefits such as relaxation and reduction of anxiety. "

Our environment today contributes a lot on the lifestyle of every individual especially here in the Metro where people are exposed in this city’s walk of life. That’s why they are getting more conscious with their health. Engaging in physical activities as we all know is much recommended.
