Useless Signs

Signs are usually reared with a purpose, to inform the population of something relevant and important.

Sometimes however, signs are erected which seem to have no point at all.

Feast

Easter (Old EnglishĒostreGreekΠάσχαPaskha;Aramaic and Hebrewפֶּסחא‎ Pasḥa,) is the central feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] According to the Canonical gospelsJesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. His resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday[2] (also Resurrection Day orResurrection Sunday). The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between AD 26 and 36, traditionally 33.

It's a celebration.

HAPPY EASTER !

The RUN for a Cause

Filipino runner's Bayanihan spirit is very much alive! To help in the on-going relief operations to the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami, Greentennial Events organized a fund raising run entitled RUN FOR JAPAN at Bonifacio Global City.

The said event was fun. Alive and kickin' ang mga runners. Aside from prayers, this is my little way of lending my help to those victims of the tragedy.

The Prayer

Holy Week

(LatinHebdomas Sancta orHebdomas Maior, "Greater Week"; Greek:Μεγάλη ἙβδομάςMegale Hebdomas) inChristianity is the last week of Lent and the week before Easter. It includes the religious holidays of Palm SundayMaundy Thursday(Holy Thursday) and Good Friday, and lasts from Palm Sunday (or in the Eastern,Lazarus Saturday) until, but not including,Easter Sunday, as Easter Sunday is the first day of the new season of The Great Fifty Days. It commemorates the last week of the earthly life of Jesus Christ as recorded in theCanonical gospels.

Time for some retreat, penance and powerful prayers ..

Thanksgiving Prayers For Use During Holy Week

Adam, Jesus, Holy Week, EasterFather of Mercy and Salvation,

As you planted the tree of life in the Garden of Eden, so you have planted the cross of your Son in the New Paradise, replacing the tree that brought us death with the gracious tree that brings us life.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

As you judged the earth by water and saved Noah by means of the ark, so you judged the world in the water of your Son's pierced side, and saved a remnant through the wood of his cross.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

As Abraham's only son, the son he loved, bore to Moriah the wood of his sacrifice, so your only Son, the beloved Son, bore his cross to Golgotha, that the blessing of Abraham might be given to the world.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.
 Jospeh Coat of many colors
As Joseph was sold by his brothers and reckoned as dead, yet was raised in glory to the King's right hand, so you Son was delivered to death by his brothers and raised in glory by your Spirit to rule at your side.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

As the blood of the lamb turned away the angel of death and delivered Israel from Pharaoh's reign, so the blood of your Son has saved us from death and delivered us from bondage to Satan and the world.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

As the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies with blood to atone for the sins of the people, so your Son entered the true Holy Place and presented the blood that atones for the sins of the world.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.
Moses, Exodus, 40 Days of Lent
As Moses raised the serpent in the wilderness to heal those who suffered for their sin, so the Son of Man was lifted up on the cross to bear our sin and make us whole.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

As Jonah lay three days in the belly of the whale, and was raised from death to preach repentance to the Gentiles, so your Son was raised from the bowels of the earth to reconcile all nations to yourself.

Response:  Glory to you, O Lord.

When Fuel Prices Go High

They say life is easy! But in this world where everything is getting high (height ko lang hindi tumaas) ramdam ang hirap ng buhay. That's why every centavo counts.

I just spent a thousand peso bill for a few grocery items. Even my favorite fastfood value meals nakikisabay rin. Don't mention 'yung ibang magugulang na taxi driver na humihingi ng dagdag.

I feel for my gf everytime she complain about the varying price of that unleaded gasoline for her car.

Imagine when fuel goes that high ... (see video)

The Need to Success

It was last week that I got a call from a high school friend. Kinukuha raw akong guest speaker sa aming Alma Mater. (Deep sigh…) Di nga? Shit, bakit ako!  It’s a compliment though.

I know I have a job na stable din naman but I think my achievements are not enough to stand before those young graduates. I have to thank my friend for helping me decline the invitation. In time, kapag successful na ko. (I was an achiever during my high school days daw kasi).

I need to keep on practicing with these:

6 Skills You Need To Succeed

1- Speaking Skills

Whether you are hustling for a promotion when you bump into a CEO in an elevator or making an important speech at an international conference, the ability to speak with a wide variety of people is an absolute essential. Good eye contact, a varied vocabulary and the ability to tailor your language to suit your audience are all essential characteristics of an artful speaker.

2- Confidence In Decision Making

Nothing says mediocrity like indecision. A good leader is decisive and will always back himself up when making the correct decision. If you want to be considered leadership material, you have to possess these characteristics. If you are paralyzed by the fear of getting it wrong, you will end up doing nothing, which is worse than trying something and failing.

3- Accountability

Another major part of being successful is accepting responsibility, both for successes and failures. If you want other people to respect you, acknowledge your errors rather than trying to blame someone else for your shortcomings.

4- A Positive Attitude

Being positive about work and life is also essential to success. While your colleagues may laugh at your endless cynicism and misanthropic tendencies, your boss will see you as someone whohates his job and who will never support the aims of the company. We should distinguish between the occasional bad day (although you should always try to minimize this and remain upbeat no matter how trying the circumstances) and being consistently pessimistic.

5- Self-Presentation

Learning how to present yourself to others is another major aspect of being successful. Good grooming and, in particular, smart attire will project an image of success to other people -- before you have even said a word.

6- Time Management Skills

It doesn’t matter how well you dress, how positive you are or how well-spoken you are if you cannot keep everything under control. Disorganization means that you will be forever playing catch-up with your work, rushing to meet deadlines and producing work below par. Learn to keep a detailed diary, listing deadlines and setting a schedule for your work, to ensure it is all done with time to spare.

Breakeven

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing,
Just prayed to a god that I don't believe in,
'Coz I got time while she got freedom,
'Coz when a heart breaks
no it don't break even.

Her best days will be some of my worst,

She finally met a man that's gonna put her first,

While I'm wide awake, she's no trouble sleeping,
'Coz when a heart breaks
no it don't break even, even no.

What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you

What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok

I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces

They say bad things happen for a reason

But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding

'Coz she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks
no it don't break even, even no.

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you

What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One still in love
while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces,
(Cuz when a heart breaks
no it don't break even)

You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain,

You took your suitcase, I took the blame.

Now I'm tryna make sense of what little remains, oh.
'Coz you left me with no love, with no love to my name.

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing,

Just prayed to a god that I don't believe in,

'Coz I got time while she got freedom,
'Coz when a heart breaks
no it don't break, no it don't
break, no it don't break even no.

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you

What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces,
(One still in love
while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces,
(Cuz when a heart breaks
no it don't break even)

Oh, it don't break even, no

Oh, it don't break even, no

Oh, It don't break even, no

Cruisin’

It’s officially summer, mainit!

I went to the City of Pines (Baguio) last weekend (palamig ng konti). Bitin ang 2-day break from the hazard of the Metro.

We had a great stay at The Suites at Camp John Hay, a condo type establishment in a highland and accessible area with a nice amenities and services. The room is spacious and comfortable. Ok ang view outside, syempre maraming pine tree at magpalamig habang pinapanood yung mga Korean in Golf course. Food shops and some apparel outlets are just a few steps away from the place.

Did I say our stay was a complimentary?
