Missing Out

This post is based on the article that caught my interest, written by Peter Hoare, a screenwriter and a magazine columnist. It's all about Relaxation. HOW TECHNOLOGY IS MAKING US MISS OUT ON LIFE.

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
-Ferris Bueller

Blame it to technology (I just can't). As said, it's a fast changing world so bear with it. The Social Media, you have it. But still, you have the options. Get life and be productive!

Hoare said Relaxation is now becoming a lost art. Take this one.
Old people can sit on a stoop, sip a glass of iced tea and just, well, be. They don’t feel the need to Instagram their view from the porch. They don’t need to tweet, “This iced tea sucks a fat one! LoLz!” They don’t check in at “Jeb’s Porch.” They can just sit, decompress, think, reflect, relax. How many of us can do the same?

Try to go outside and look around, most of the people are on their phone. In the Bar, Restaurants, Beaches and other areas designated for relaxation, are people do talk to each other more? I bet everybody is updating the Facebook status to say "At the beach!". How many letters do you currently write? Just go chatting, that's easy. (So now I'm guilty!)

Why don't get into physical activities rather than spending the day in your laptop.

We all love technology, we shouldn't give it up, we're in a modern world. But, like everything in life, MODERATION is the key! Too much use can distract us from real life.

Hoare's point - appreciate the moments in real time.

love this post! very few people know how to relax these days. i do it by reading fantasy novels until i fall sleep.. it may not sound very relaxing for other people, but reading fantasy novels helps me feel detached from the stress of everyday life..

I agree. We just need to live life one step at a time, feel the joy it brings, make the most out of every day.

I agree with this! We really need to put limitation with the technology and it has side effect physiologically/health.

Sometimes we need to enjoy life in a simple way:)
