I was once received a phone call from a company named Phil. Prudential Life Advertising Co. and claimed that I was chosen as a scholar in Datamex, an IT school. That I am eligible to enroll for any computer course for free. I didn’t join any contest so how could I win such prize. She said they got my contact from their affiliate banks namely BDO, BPI and Metrobank. At the back of my mind I know it was just a scam like the many text messages I received stating that I won cash or something. Nevertheless, I entertained the call. (Saka maganda naman boses nya, Emerald daw name nya).

She even insisted me to drop by to their office on that day or the following day to get the certificate and reminded me to bring my credit card. (Para saan kaya ang credit card?) Anniversary lang daw ng company kaya may ganung promo. Ok, I said I’ll be coming.

Philippine Prudential Life Dirty Marketing Strategy

Their strategy is to approach you and will ask if you have a credit card. Are you familiar with this marketing strategy that usually takes place inside the mall? If they found out that you have a credit card, these people will then announce in a loud voice that you have won a free gift! The free gift is usually a tumbler, pillow, a wall clock and even a laptop! Then next you are qualified for a free raffle. The chance to win a brand new car or a $10,000 in an electronic raffle! Sounds cool!


During the conversation, these people will tell you that no money is involve in the transaction, that they are not selling insurance. If you come and visit their office, they will ask you to fill-out an information sheet and later explain the real motive. Sell insurance!


Philippine Prudential Life is not in any way connected to Prudential Life as the name implies. The will ask your credit card info and will use it in their transactions in case you agreed to avail their service.

Another strategy of PPIL is contacting people by phone. You will receive a telephone call that you have won a brand new car from an SM raffle! They use SM because their offices are located inside SM Malls.


In fact, PPIL (Philippine Prudential Life) offers the same service like the usual insurance company. The problem with PPIL is not registered in Securities and Exchange Commission, but connected to Insurance Commission as they claim.


The Philippine Prudential Life is using a dirty marketing strategy to lure people. Why this company exists inside SM Malls where in fact many have told us the company is not a legitimate company. Why the real Prudential Life is allowing PPIL to use their name?
PPIL claims that they are 47 years in the business. Why not use the newspaper, the television or any marketing tool like brochures to market their business? Why force people in malls to come in their office?

So folks, beware of this. I just learned sila ‘yung dating Family First. Address nga raw pala nila sa Raffles Corporate Center in Ortigas, Pasig City.
